S1. Rainbow National Services (J.S.) 1. 3Q09 Results: 1. Revenue at national programming networks, AMC, IFC and WE tv increased 11% to $206m. 2. Operating income, $79m. 1. 23% increase vs. prior-year period. 3. Quarterly increase in revenue included 7% increase in affiliate revenue and 18% increase in ad revenue vs. prior-year period. 1. Few services delivered strong advertising increases in qtr., with AMC and WE tv, and joined continued critical and rating success from original series and IFC successfully generating new sponsorship deals. 2. Improvement in operating income, driven largely by this higher revenue, partially offset by higher programming expenses in qtr. at WE tv and AMC. 4. AMC recently made [TV history] as first basic cable network to win Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series for Mad Men in two consecutive years. 1. Hopes to continue to build on this model of quality original programming generating increased brand profile and increased ratings with premiere of new three-part mini-series called The Prisoner on AMC. 1.
